An art installation photo booth with an infinity room interior
Approached by the luxurious hotel group of the Mondrian - at Sea Containers, London; we were briefed to create a permanently installed photo booth experience to be located on the 12th floor of the exclusive Rumpus Room.
The booth was to match the high-end, yet quirky interior of the space; with the content being easily shared as UGC via guests to their social feeds.
Collaborating with the design team of the Mondrian - we created multiple mood boards and concepts that employed stripes, mirrors, and brightly coloured objects to make it visually striking. Using these designs as a foundation, the booth exterior would use a mixture of black & white stripes, and a bright yellow for the sphere resting on a corner - making it resemble an art installation.
Styling the interior to match the booth’s premium surroundings, we created an infinity room of mirrors that used a large ceiling mounted screen and bespoke animations created by our designers. This made the whole of the interior space glow with colour, and ambience - all created by the moving animations, that extend almost infinitely within the mirrors.
To capturing guests within the infinity room is our iPad Ring Light. With its ability to capture GIF animations of guests, the iPad has a custom designed prompt screen for taking photos, with a live-view and countdown before the photo is taken. The resulting GIFS of guests moving around and dancing, are then immediately socially shareable via the iPad to their social feeds.
On both the interior mirror screen and the iPad - the Mondrian have already taken advantage of re-branding them for brand take-overs, sponsors, and private events. For these, they can simply upload the new graphics and video - to have them immediately displayed on the photo booth outputs.
