Meet Daria - Interactive Experience Designer at The Flash Pack
As a recent graduate of the Royal College of Art, Daria joined the team in September. She implements artistic value into our projects and her technical skill-set represents a move for The Flash Pack towards creating more AR, VR and projection mapping experiences.
We caught up with Daria to dive deeper:
Tell us about your background. Where and what did you study?
I graduated from the Royal College of Art in summer 2017. I did an MA in where I learned to combine art, design and technology to create unique experiences. I love the intersection of those three fields and that's you can find those 3 factors throughout my art and design practices.
How would you describe your approach to interactive experiences?
My art and design research focuses on interactive and immersive experiences. I find it extremely important to think about the user's journey of an art / design work, including reaching different senses such as sight, touch, sound.
Who or what are your current inspirations and how do they influence your work?
I am a big fan of light art. So, as cheesy as it sounds, all lights around me inspire me every day!
What’s your favourite part of working at The Flash Pack?
I appreciate working with such a diverse, creative and hardworking team. It combines all the elements that I love: set building, interaction design and live filming and shooting.
What has been your biggest challenge here?
I am a quite new member of the team, so I guess my biggest challenge so far is to cycle every day from West London to South London. Looking forward to all the other challenges!
What has been the most exciting project to work on?
I was lucky enough to be involved in one of our 360 camera rig productions for a TV show. This allowed me further to create an amazing creative shoot together with the Flash Pack – for which I wrote the story, directed the set, used crazy and beautiful lights with mirrors and smoke.
Do you have any secret hobbies or interests?
I am a workaholic, but that's not a secret. I love to create, so this is what I constantly do. Ah yes, Peanut Butter in any form is my private hobby too!
What's your desert island disc?
The sound of mountains and the sea!
