Taking DOOH to a new level, Google has gone digital on London buses

Following our partnership with Google at the #madebygoogle Curiosity Rooms in Selfridges, London; news of the newly released Pixel 2 has spread far and wide, with pre-orders having sold out in days.

Ramping up the marketing of the Pixel 2 phone, Google has unveiled a new phase of their Integrated strategy, with a fresh take on Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) advertising.

In partnership with Exterion Media, and Talon - the Arriva and Go Ahead busses in London will be fully wrapped with a Google Pixel 2 inspired livery, of black and white.

The real game-changing element, however, is the addition of responsive digital displays. These displays have the ability to change their content based on its location - using geo-targeting to connect to audiences.

Running for three months, and in conjunction with a separate DOOH campaign with JCDecaux, the Pixel 2 campaign will be seen on Digital Billboards and London buses, all across the city.

As the Pixel 2 buses are the first example of digital being used in this way on transportation DOOH, we are sure to see other brands quickly reacting to this technology, with their own geo-targeted campaigns on transportation.
